Einstein Names Endowed Chairs, Faculty Scholars

Recognizing the accomplishments of Einstein’s faculty, the Board of Trustees has recently approved endowed chair and faculty scholar appointments.

Adilia Hormigo, M.D., M.S., Ph.D., has been named the Lena and Joseph Gluck Distinguished Scholar in Neurology. Dr. Hormigo is also a professor of oncology, in the Leo M. Davidoff Department of Neurological Surgery, in the Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology, and of microbiology & immunology at Einstein.


Carmen Isasi, M.D., Ph.D., FAHA, has been named the Harold and Muriel Block Chair in Epidemiology & Population Health. Dr. Isasi is also a professor of epidemiology & population health and of pediatrics (adolescent medicine) at Einstein.


Jessica Kahn, M.D., M.P.H., has been named the Dr. Ernest Baden Chair in Head and Neck Pathology. Dr. Kahn is also a professor of pediatrics, the senior associate dean for clinical and translational research, and the director of the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Einstein.


Yoon Kang, M.D., FACP, was named the Ruth L. Gottesman Chair in Education. Dr. Kang is also the vice dean for education and a professor of medicine at Einstein.


Mimi Kim, Sc.D., has been named the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation Chair. Dr. Kim is also a professor and the head of the division of biostatistics in the department of epidemiology & population health, the associate director of the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, and the director of the Data Science Institute at Einstein.


Lindsay LaFave, Ph.D., now holds the Rubenstein Family Early Career Professorship in Environmental Determinants and Disease at Einstein. Dr. LaFave is also an assistant professor of cell biology at Einstein.


Wei Liu, Ph.D., was named the Branna and Irving Sisenwein Chair in Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. Dr. Liu is also an associate professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences and of genetics at Einstein.


Deepa Rastogi, M.B.B.S., M.S., has been named the Joseph S. Blume Faculty Scholar in Pediatric Development. Dr. Rastogi is also a professor of pediatrics, of pathology, and of genetics, the chief of the division of pediatric respiratory & sleep medicine, and the director of the K12 program at the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at Einstein.


Stephanie Rudolph, Ph.D., now holds the George Fulop, M.D. ’80, and Family Early Career Professorship. Dr. Rudolph is also an assistant professor in the Dominick P. Purpura Department of Neuroscience and of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Einstein.


Kristy Stengel, Ph.D., now holds the Melissa S. and John V. Ceriale Early Career Professorship. Dr. Stengel is also an assistant professor of cell biology at Einstein.


Sylvia O. Suadicani, Ph.D., has been named the Ben Marden Distinguished Scholar in Urology. Dr. Suadicani is also a professor of urology and of molecular pharmacology and an assistant professor in the Dominick P. Purpura Department of Neuroscience at Einstein.


Britta Will, Ph.D., has been named the Ruth L. and David S. Gottesman Chair in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research. Dr. Will is also an associate professor of oncology, of medicine, and of cell biology and the director of the Ruth L. and David S. Gottesman Institute for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine at Einstein, a co-leader of the stem cell & cancer biology program at the National Cancer Institute–designated Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC), the director of preclinical modeling at MECCC’s Blood Cancer Institute, and the director of the cancer stem cell pharmacodynamics laboratory.
