Einstein in Your Neighborhood: 2025

The Einstein Alumni Association kicked off 2025 with a series of gatherings from coast to coast as part of its Einstein in Your Neighborhood (EIYN) program. The events provide an opportunity for alumni, parents, and friends in each region to hear directly from Yaron Tomer, M.D., the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean at Einstein and chief academic officer at Montefiore Einstein, about the College of Medicine’s new strategic plan and to celebrate recent achievements.

Einstein in Your Neighborhood: Florida

In late January, a EIYN brunch in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was graciously hosted by Marcelle Abell-Rosen, M.D. ’01, and her husband, Andrew Rosen. Einstein alumni and friends got the chance to connect with one another and hear from Dr. Tomer, who shared updates on the latest advancements and discoveries at Einstein, providing guests with a closer look at the institution’s cutting-edge research.

Einstein in Your Neighborhood: New Jersey

The EIYN New Jersey event, held in early February, was hosted by Beth Friedman Stein, M.D. ’01, and her husband, Jeremy Stein, J.D. More than 90 alumni attended the gathering in Teaneck, N.J. In addition to receiving Dr. Tomer’s updates, guests heard from Harris Goldstein, M.D. ’80, senior associate dean for scientific affairs and professor of pediatrics and of microbiology & immunology and the Charles Michael Chair in Autoimmune Diseases at Einstein.

Einstein in Your Neighborhood: California

In early April, the EIYN event in San Francisco, Calif., was hosted by Gillies McKenna, M.D., Ph.D. ’81, and Ruth Muschel, M.D., Ph.D. ’78. Drs. McKenna and Muschel are one of many couples who met during their time at Einstein. Their remarks reflected the impact Einstein has had on their lives, both professionally and personally, illustrating the lasting bonds that Einstein fosters.

Einstein continues to be a special place for so many, as proved by the enthusiastic attendance at EIYN events, which are made possible by alumni hosts. More opportunities to connect with our vibrant community are on the horizon.

If you would like to help by hosting a future event, please contact Min Um-Mandhyan,
